Karate Bogu

MEN (headgear)

Karate headgear, face view

This equipment is included here because it is made in essentially the same way and by the same people as make our kendo bogu. The Karate Men is double thickness padding over the head, and the "wings" have a velcro-attached extra padding to protect the side of the neck. The grill is set in very thick rawhide and the throat protector is very wide to provide extra protection for the front of the neck.

On the side you can see the special earpiece that protects the eardrum from strikes to the padding, and allows better hearing.

On the inside you can see the velcro-attached padding over the shoulders.
